What Are The 12 Important Lessons Pandemic Taught Me
Pandemic is hard on everyone around the globe. We never thought we would have to stay at home for so many months to come. Life indeed became boring with no friends and family around. But this Pandemic has taught me lots of things as a person. So what are the 12 Important Lessons Pandemic Taught Me, Let’s find them out.
What Are The 12 Important Lessons Pandemic Taught Me
- It reminded me of my self-worth. This Pandemic helped me to peep within myself and my talents. It made me realize what if I die today? Will I be satisfied with what I have achieved in my life? These questions jolted me. So, now I focus my time and energy on doing things I always wanted to do. I tried to brush up, to be better in the things I am good at and what more I can achieve with it.
- It increased my productivity. I never thought I would be looking after my child, his studies, cooking, household chores, will start a website, and will do all the tasks pretty well.
- I started to look at options to improve my income. Pandemic made me realize you never know what life brings you. So, it is always better to work on self-improvement and ways you can earn your living.
- Life is so unpredictable we should try to make the most of it by staying with our loved ones. For many years, my husband had stayed away from his parent in a different city because of work. We came in March to celebrate a festival together with them. But are still lockdown here for several months. Initially adjusting, to the joint family with my in-laws took time. But then gradually I felt staying together with family makes you feel so secured and relaxed. My son got the opportunity to gel up with his grandparents, which was otherwise not possible. It is a lifetime thing for him and everyone. It has brought us closer as a family.
- Being happy with small things-Now, I am running around and playing with my son, which was not happening before Pandemic. Before COVID 19 outbreak, I use to take my kid to the park every evening, where he always preferred playing with his peer group rather than playing with me. So now I get to spend some happy times with him.
- Able to differentiate between real and reel happiness and focussing on real people around me. We have betrayed our cell phones for good in the evening daily to engage ourselves in some board games with the whole family.
- Be self-reliant- Pandemic decreased my dependency on maids, but at the same time, it made me realize their importance in our lives, how they do odd jobs and make things easy for us. I have started valuing them more as a person.
- Giving time to loved ones- Most importantly, this lockdown made me realize life is so short and vulnerable. Things can twist and turn the way it wants, and sometimes we have no control over it. In the hustle-bustle of life, we tend to forget to call our parents to know how they are. This halt in life gave me time to think about what I am doing in my life and what I should be doing.
- Self Care– I never use to exercise, but this Pandemic changed my perspective. I realized how important it is to stay fit and healthy. I can only take care of my family only when I am healthy, mentally, and physically. We cannot pour from an empty cup.
- Don’t spend money on unnecessary items. Help your friends and family who are striving hard to meet their basics. It will give you inner happiness and satisfaction.
- It is never late to start anything new. It is never late to try anything new, have faith in yourself, and Always say to yourself best of me is yet to come and strive hard to be better than your previous version.
- Despite Pandemic being hard on every one of us, still, I am happy to be alive, to see these days. It made me realize to live life to the fullest. We should enjoy our lives when you have the opportunity. Learn to be more satisfied as a person. It made me realize the worth of things that we considered normal and boring before Pandemic.
I would be lying if If I say that this Pandemic has made me only happy and a better person. Yes, there are days when I felt exhausted, there are days when I feel depressed, yes there are days when I feel lonely despite the family being around, yes there are days when I want to run away from the monotonous work we are supposed to do because of Pandemic. Yes, there are days when I don’t want to strive to be better when I don’t want to do anything. But feeling low is not going to help us. But feeling happy and satisfied will rejuvenate our minds and improve our life and performance.
Life and situation can be hostile, but yes, try to find solutions to improve it. Try to come out from your downfalls as warriors and survivors who are ready to fight back and conquer again.
