10 Easy Ways To Transform Your Home Into A Spa

10 Easy Ways To Convert Your Home into A Spa
Spread the love

Due to the pandemic, we have all been missing going to the spa. And even if we could go with all the coupons and discounts added, a full body massage is way too expensive than a local therapist. So how can we convert our experience of local massage in our own home into a spa-like treatment? Here are some easy and less expensive ways to transform your home into a spa.

  1. Buy a white sheet
Nothing can make you feel like a spa more than a fresh white sheet. Whether on the bed or your floor, spread your usual stuff and top it with a single white bedsheet. You need not buy pure fabrics, but any kind of  mix cheap bedsheet in white will also do. It is always better to go for a 100% pure cotton sheet. After every use, wash it in warm water with detergent, baking soda, and vinegar to get all the grime out possible.
  2. Linen spray

Take a spray bottle fill with water and add your favourite essential oil blends as per your wish. I recommend lavender essential oil for calming. Spray the mist over your sheet for that extra calming effect. You can use this on your bed and pillow at night too. (100 ml water: 10 drops of oil)

  1. Candles/ Diffusers

The next step is to light on your favourite candle for the ambiance and fragrance. You can try some diffusers with essential oils too. They are cheaper and lasts much longer.

  1. Sound therapy

Choose a piece of good spa music, relaxing music, or calming music on YouTube and play along. You can also choose to play different sounds on Alexa, like waterfall or ocean. Remember to keep your phone on airplane mode if nothing urgent is coming up.

  1. Timing

Always choose a time when you are not expecting anyone. Check out for maids, deliveries, and other errands so that you are not in the look of all that during your relaxing me-time.

  1. Coverup

Use a white towel to cover up during the massage. It also retains the warmth of the massage and helps in relaxing the muscles. You can choose to use a bathrobe or thin blanket for the same.

  1. Oils

The oils or creams you choose also have a very spa-like feeling. You should use pure virgin oils or get oils extracted from a local store nearby. You might find this with a dry fruit store or flour grinders.

Use coconut oil in summers, mustard oil in winters whereas, sesame oil works well in all other seasons. Use Almond oil for the face and neck.

If not possible to get any of these, then Figaro olive oil is the best. If allergic to oil, use body butter.

  1. Avoid Conversation

During the massage avoid all kinds of conversation. Always start the massage from the back body- massage top to bottom and then front body-massage from bottom to top.
When you complete doing the massage on one side of your body, ensure you cover that with a towel or a sheet.

  1. Pressure

Now we might think that more pressure applied means it is more beneficial for our body. But it is a myth. Massage should be a relaxing experience, and so the pressure should be as per your liking. Not too hard and not too soft. Moreover, instead of going back and forth vigorously, do it in a circular motion or towards the heart.

  1. After the massage

Take a bath only after 40 mins of massage is preferred so that the body has cooled completely and the oils have penetrated. If needed to go for a bath immediately, remember to take a warm bath. You can add some bath salts into your bathwater. Keep the lights dim in the shower room. You can use home-made soaps or organic kitchen ingredients to enhance your beauty.
